NHS Hospital Reception Desk Refit

The Challenge

A high-traffic NHS reception desk was suffering from extreme wear and tear and needed a durable, hygienic upgrade.

Our Solution

Applied a neutral velvet-grain film to the desk, working in tandem with a carpenter to finish new structural additions.

The Result

A refreshed, professional focal point for the hospital that can withstand the rigours of a 24/7 healthcare environment.

We were contacted by one of our interior designer partners to assist with a vital refurbishment at an NHS hospital. Reception desks in hospital environments are subjected to constant use and physical contact, and this particular desk was showing serious signs of fatigue.

Working alongside the client’s carpenter, who added new structural elements to modernise the desk's shape, we applied a neutral velvet-grain architectural film. This finish was chosen for its clean, professional aesthetic and its hard-wearing properties. Because the material is non-porous and easy to sanitise, it is an ideal solution for healthcare settings. The project was completed with minimal disruption to hospital operations, and the end result was received extremely well by both the design team and the hospital staff.
